After leading his team to a historic Super Bowl comeback victory, Tom Brady from the New England Patriots sat down with us for an interview in The Daily Cherub Studios. Here’s what he had to say:
TDC: So, Tom. Or do you prefer Thomas?
Tom Brady: You can call me Tom.
TDC: How about Timmy? Anyone ever call you Timmy, or Tom Cat, maybe Too-Tall Tomithy?
Tom Brady: No, I can’t say anyone has called me Timmy or any of those other names before. Just call me Tom.
TDC: Ok then. Tom, everybody wants to know – what’s next? You’ve won more Super Bowls than any other man named Timward before, or any other quarterback in history! What’s left for you to accomplish?
Tom Brady: To be honest, I’m just looking forward to a relaxing off-season right now. You know, some time to think and clear my head. Maybe get back in touch with some of my uncles. [My teamate] Gronk, Coach Belichick, and I have penciled in a few luncheons at my place. I just love finger foods and small talk.
TDC: You obviously had some extra motivation this past season, how will you find the extra belly-fire to keep you going this next year?
Tom Brady: There’s still a lot I want to accomplish before I retire. I’ve got my sights on some new goals. I’m focused on getting into the Sunday School Hall of Fame. It’s something I’ve always wanted to be a part of since I was a small, bone-filled child. I’ve memorized most of the book of Leviticus. I think I have a good shot of making it into the Holy Hall as a first ballot candidate.
TDC: Wow, the whole book of Leviticus? That’s a long book!
Tom Brady: Yeah, it took a lot of time and dedication. I spent all of my free time in the locker room this year just reciting verse after verse on sin offerings and ceremonial cleansing. My teammates really got a kick out of it. I can only imagine how they’ll react when I start memorizing Songs of Solomon next year.
TDC: Did any of them start calling you Tom-viticus or Tomses?
Tom Brady: Tomses?
TDC: Like Tom and Moses put together. Maybe Moez-Tom?
Tom Brady: Yeah, come to think of it Julian Edelman has been calling me Moez-Tom for a while now. I never really put it together. I’m glad you cleared that up for me.
TDC: No problem, Moez-Tom. We’re glad you could stop by.
